China’s Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), which mimics the energy generation process of the sun, set a new record after it ran at 216 million degrees Fahrenheit (120 million degrees Celsius) for 101 seconds, according to state media. 

For another 20 seconds, the “artificial sun” also achieved a peak temperature of 288 million degrees Fahrenheit (160 million degrees Celsius), which is over ten times hotter than the sun. 

The latest feat by Chinese scientists is a significant step in the quest to unlock clean and limitless energy, with minimal waste products.

But experts say there is still a long way to go for China’s experimental ‘artificial sun’. According to Lin Boquiang, the director of the China Center for Energy Economics Research at Xiamen University, it will take decades for a working reactor to emerge from its experimental stages.

Research workers of MIT University created a computer programme in 1964, it provided seamless communication between human & machines. By 1966, they built an app called ELIZA, that helped in building the chatbots.  Eliza was equipped with, the  keyword-enabled responses.  Another language processing bot, A.L.I.C.E, was introduced in 1995 & in 2001 a new version ‘SmarterChild’ was launched.   Pharmaceutical products are major sources of pollution all over the world. The consumption and production of pharmaceutical products increased due to demographic explosion, changing lifestyle & epidemiology, increasing chronic health issues, availability of low priced generic medicines, evolution in clinical practices (OECD 2022). Irrational consumption and disposal behaviours of the public lead to pharmaceutical pollution (Vatovec et al 2016, 2017).  The  household pharmaceutical waste is 3% to 50%  in Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD 2022) countries.
